Wanneer de BasicLock wordt gebruikt om één van de twee vouwdeuren af te sluiten is het raadzaam om 2 pen protectors op de andere vouwdeur te monteren, om te voorkomen dat deze wordt geopend of geforceerd en zo de extra veiligheid dankzij de BasicLock mist. Deze Pen Protector kan ook aan de zijkanten van de deuren worden geplaatst (daar waar de scharnieren zitten) om te voorkomen dat de deur wordt geopend door de scharnieren door te knippen.
